2019 Lake Poinsett Results

Lake Poinsett Results

The final PBBM tournament of the 2019 season is in the books. It was tough fishing for a lot of guys, as we knew it would be from reports of those who pre-fished the week before.
Dan found one and only one spot holding fish, and he sat on it all day Saturday to come in with 13+ lbs and the 1st place win. His partner Jimmy Haggerty took 3rd place with 10+ lbs and the big fish prize with a nice 5 1/2 lb bass.
Those were also the only two limits caught, but Fred Reid took 2nd place with four good fish weighing in at 10+ pounds. Brian also had four fish and took 4th place, which was significant because it allowed him to maintain his lead in the Angler-of-the-Year race, which make him Champion for the year! Congratulations Brian!

The top 10 anglers in the Angler-of-the-Year race will next compete in the PBBM Championship tournament, to be held November 16. Those 10 anglers will select by vote at the next club meeting (Nov 7) the location of that tournament. In addition, there will be 10 “observer” positions available for anglers who did not make the Top 10 but still want to fish and compete against only the other observers in the tournament. Since as many as 4 of the Top 10 anglers do not have a boat, we will definitely be looking for observers to bring their boats to this tournament.
