A few general notes for new members, prior to the start of the season.
Entry fees for club members are $30 per tournament. Annual club dues are $60. Both of these must be paid prior to fishing, and can be paid at the ramp on Saturday, to George Ragusin.
There is an optional big bass pot ($5) as well as Calcutta (winner takes all, also $5), collected prior to fishing the morning of each tournament.
The club pays cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place individual, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place boat, and big bass for the day.
Anglers are awarded points based on their finishing place in each tournament, and all are competing for “Angler of the Year” which is the sum of all points for all tournaments. As well, the top 10 finishers in the AOY race fish in a “Championship” tournament at the end of the year.

A few reminders about tournament rules for all anglers. (Complete rules and club bylaws can be found here.)

SAFETY: Safe boating must be observed at all times. Each contestant is required to wear a properly fastened, chest type life preserver anytime the boat is traveling “on plane.” Failure to properly wear life preserver, as described, will result in disqualification from the tournament. All boats must be equipped with an ignition kill switch that is securely fastened to the driver any time the boat is traveling on plane. All legally posted NO WAKE zones and NO FISHING areas must be obeyed. Violation of these rules will result in disqualification.

INSURANCE: Any boat used in a club sanctioned tournament shall have valid insurance coverage that either meets or exceeds the prescribed level set by the Florida BASS Federation Nation for participation in state or regional tournaments.

SPORTSMANSHIP: All contestants are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety, fellowship and conservation. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs shall be permitted in boats during any PBBM sanctioned tournament. Any contestant showing signs of being under the influence or reported for consuming alcohol or illegal drugs, or any extreme violation of the sportsmanship rule will be subject to disqualification and possible removal from club.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, for the start of a great new season!
Dan
